Question:
I have a '98 Ford Explorer, V6, FWD, w/104,000 miles on it. The check engine light came on about a month ago and got it checked out at Autozone. They told me it was a minor emissions system leak. I checked the gas cap and also had a passed emissions inspection about six months ago.
Answers:
any ideas what a creaking noise might be coming fron left front end of a 2003 grand caravan.?
aside from the gas cap, it could be a cracked emission hose in the engine compartment that might be obvious to see and repair.
was told i need a transmission controller for 2002 neon price $565 for part, does this sound right?
most likely repair cost would be minimal, but you can never tell what a "minor" problem could stem from.
Depends on what is leaking. If it's a loose manifold bolt or a clamp somewhere in the system, not much. If it's a hole starting in the muffler or the head pipe or cat. converter, it could be a lot.
You'll need to find the leak and locate why it's leaking before you can estimate what a repair cost will be.
where can i find parts for my 1988 ford crown victoria police intercepter?
For a "check engine" light, Autozone should have scanned your Explorer with an OBDII scanner and pulled an exact code telling you exactly what is faulting. Then you would know what to replace or repair.More Questions & Answers ...
