Question:
Hey there everyone. I got my Malibu today but there is an issue. When the dealer replaced the battery the gauge read full and the needle jumped and went all the way around to under the empty peg. Is there an easy way to fix this without ripping my dash apart to get to it? Any ideas? And how can I keep this from happening again because there is no full peg.
Thanks.

You can use a paper clip to stick through the hole at the trip odometer and carefully move it back around and it will be ok.
I have seen it happen several times on GM cars. It has to do with an electrical spike when hooking up battery.
Is upshifting without the clutch (floating) good or bad?
You'll have to rip it apart and move it manually.i own a repair shop, and you,ll have to take it apart and do it manually ,this is the only way to do it,,one thing that bothers me is why it did this to start with,,just changing the battery wont do this unless they shorted something out on it,,id have it checked,,there's a problem with it some where ,good luck i hope this help,s.

sounds like you need a new fuel gaugeWhere in Kent can I get my alloy wheels reconditioned? and how much does it cost per wheel?
I believe the fuel reostate that tells how full your tank is toast. Are you sure jumped over? Did you see it happening?. If yes, try to wind it back up or replace it. If no, check: fuses, sending unit wires, sending unit and than gauge.
I do not have any spark on 1992 Dodge Stealth SOHC?
I can tell you this it is a very common problem in chevy late model. I would check fuse then code from computer and if there is not a code then take the tank down and check fuel lever inside the tank. XL auto parts sell the fuel sending unit from 70 to 90 dollars or you can buy the same parts on the junkyard for $ 50.Good luck.More Questions & Answers ...
