Question:
replaced coils, wires, plugs, fuel filter, air filter and cut out the cat. I also tested the TPR(throttle position sensor) and these improved the issue, but still have original symptoms. I also tested my EGR valve by unplugging it, it did not make any differance in the way the car ran (does that mean my egr is not working?)

My car startes stuttering and shaking when I accelerate up to 80mph on the freeway, what's wrong?
Either your EGR is stuck open, or you have a vacuum leak somewhere. With the engine idling, put a vacuum gauge on a line from the intake. It should read about 14 inches and steady. If it fluctuates or is lower than 10, you have a vacuum problem. Get a propane torch and open the valve. Unlit, move the tip around the intake manifold and related hoses. When the idle speed increases, you are very near the vacuum leak because the engine is sucking in the propane. After that, repair the problem and the engine should return to normal. If no leak is found, remove the EGR valve and cut a solid gasket from a pop can to seal the ports. Reinstall the valve with the new solid gasket and see how it runs. If it runs well, replace the valve.Looking for ingredients for making ethonal?

Is there an O2 sensor? That may be the cause. Also I had a Suburban with a radical idle and it turned out to be a sensor in the distributor.More Questions & Answers ...
