Question:
I have a 91 S10 2 wheel drive and a 76 IH Scout II rolling chassis. I would like to put the S10 body on the Scout chassis. I am not concerned with the bed as I will make a flat bed once the swap is completed. The Scout has a 345 V8 and a T19 tranny if that helps. I want the Scout chassis for its boxed frame, 100 inch wheelbase, and SFA. Has anyone attempted or completed this swap? Does anyone have any tips for a swap like this?

HOPE YOU DON'T INTEND ON DRIVING IT FOR A FEW WEEKS . BUT HERE IT GOES. REMOVE ALL THE BODY MOUNTING BOLTS. DISCONNECT THE WIRING FROM THE ENGINEAND TRANS. DISCONNECT THE LINKAGES TO SHIFTER AND SO ON REMOVE THE S-10 BODY FROM THE FRAME . REMOVE THE INTER FENDERS AND RADIATOR. MAKE TWO SUPPORTS AND PUT THEM FROM THE LOWER FIRE WALL TOO THE TOP OF THE RADIATOR SUPPORT. TAKE THE SCOUT FRAME AND SET ON JACKSTANDS PULL THE TIRES OFF AND THEN SET THE BODY OF THE S-10 OVER TH FRAME OF THE SCOUT . LOWER TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS SUITABLE TO YOU THEN YOU BUILD THE 6 POINT MOUNTING FROM 6X2 THICK WALL TUBING KEEP IN MIND THAT EVERY THING MUST BE CENTERED AT ALL TIMES FIND CENTER OF FRAME AND CAB AND THEN THE WHEEL OPENINGS USING A PLUMB BOB ONCE ALL THE LINES ARE CORRECT AND YOU LIKE THE PROFILE OF THE WORK THEN WELD IN THE FRAME SUPPORTS AND SET THE BODY DOWN AND BOLT IT UP . THEN ITS A MATTER OF MAKING EVERYTHING ELSE FIT THIS IS THE FAST VERSION. I DON'T HAVE THE ROOM TO GIVE YOU THE LONG VERSION. HOPE THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK.02ram1500,rear rotor. should new one slide right back on? spring system?
I can only think it is a major project given the fact its two very different vehicles and all the body mounts would have to be custom made along with many other issues such as steering mechanisms, wiring, etc. Sounds like a real project! Expensive at that!95 Ford Escort Transmission problem?
