Question:
I have to change it out, and I would rather do it myself, opposed to taking it to a shop. Someone told me it's easier to remove the tranny with motor? Any advice or help!?

The way its done is to hang the motor in chasis and remove the subframe. Now i assume that you do not have access to a car hoist so that means you would have to be working on your back under a hanging engine. thats not very safe.
If you opted two pull both at once you will have to drop them both out the bottom attached to the subframe.

It is really an easy job. Provided you have the tools to do it! I am a wrench for a Ford dealership and I do not have the tools to do it at home. If you are going to do it (which I dont recomend) make sure you have your subframe marked so when you bolt it back up your car is not out of alignment. More importantly make you have the motor secured from the top! I could not even imagine one of those coming down at you.well first you take it to a scrap yard and have them pick it up with a fork lift and put it in the crusher.problem solved.unfortunatley the '90 thru '98 fords had tranny nightmares,unless you have ever swapped out a transmission before several times its not going to be worth the money you save by doing it yourself.my advice would be go to auto zone,buy a tranny for it and take to a professional to have it installed.good luck.
