Remote entry?

Check your fuel lines. They may be corroded through right there.

I have just checked oil on my 1997 vauxhall astra 1.6 8v to find cap covered in cream gunk,is this terminal?

filler neck is the most common, they rust out and many older models had recalls. could also be at the neck and the little flapper door if it leaks when gas is put in. the fuel pump, filter and fuel lines are all right behind the left rear tire so it could also be a leak from any of those regions as well.

1989 Chevy S-10 not starting?

easy way, jack it up, pop off the rear tire and all should be in site. red braided hoses will be the full line, filter should be in a small metal cup like item. maybe one of the lines has came lose, the filter could have a hole in it, etc.

Latest Ripoff, I had to buy wiper blade refills, which come two to a package, but had to buy two different?

sure its not the filler tube? sorry about second guessing you, but as a honda tech i have seen many, many fillers leaking, and rarely anything else, and if it was something else, you could either see the leak, or see that it comes from the top of the tank, which would mean you either drop the tank, or if you are lucky get access from the trunk or backseat cover.
