Is there an abrasive to get rid of small rock chips on car glass windshields?

Driving at night or when the sun goes down, i can't see through the windshield because of glare from the numerous small rock chips and scratches. Is there an abrasive/polish that i can use with a buffer to get rid of the small scratches and pits and have a smooth seethru glass windshield? Thanks

ooo steel wool will take out fine scratches in glass but it sounds like your glass is really bad and needs replacing.
