Problems with brakes on 71 Dart?

Question:
I have a 71 Dodge Dart with drum brakes on back. discs on front, non power. The pedal felt spongy, so I bled them. Still spongy. I did'nt pull off back drums, to check. I checked fronts and they look great. Could it be a leaky slave cylinder in one of the back brakes? Also could it just need adjustment to the back brakes. There are no signs of leakage at the master cylinder, and brakes work fine, just spongy. Thanks

check the back brakes for needing replacing and if they are good look at the wheel cylinders and make sure they are not leaking and if they are good maybe the brakes need set up on the back, turn the star wheel to let the brakes move outward until you feel them dragging on the brake drum and do that to both of the rear wheels and try to get them to drag evenly on both wheels on the back and see if that helps, if that doesn't work flush out all the old brake fluid and replace with new fluid in all 4 wheels, makes a big difference as moisture builds in the lines from heating and cooling and breaks down the fluid.

it sounds like you still have air in the brake lines, if you had a cylinder leaking fluid the wheel where it is leaking would grab.

If there's no air in the lines and no oil leaking it's your master cylinder.
