How much for new water pump & cam belt for my Golf?

Assuming it is just a standard 2.0lt GTi then www.eurocarparts.com have the water pump for only £24.69 + vat and the belt for £13.97 + vat. You would be best buying any timing belt tensioners needed as well while you are at it. They deliver but check the website for a branch near you. Also try http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ . A similar type of company. Don't forget to ask at your local dealer. VW service parts are quite reasonable unlike some! Finally, go to the forums on www.clubgti.com for great advice.

I used to have one of those, a blue one. Best car I've ever owned. Had to replace mine due to the ware and tear from doing my paper round in it. I think it was all the stopping and starting that did them in. Anyway I got a quote for the repairs and as you can imagine the paper round didn't cover the repair bill so I traded it in for a Ford Transit, a green one. No where near the performance of the GTI. Worst decision I ever made so don't be tempted to do what I did. Does that help?
