What causes a car to suddenly use more gas?
to be honest--this would be normally a "work of the heart". Another words there would be a connection to that car that transcends over money (like you where born in one, or your first car). Ramblers do not make good restoration vehicles for investment or resale. So if you don't mind having $8,000 in a car that will be worth $2300 after 1000 hours of work---go ahead. I have several restored cars--only two am I upside down in. That is mostly do to damage while being stored. Parts for a 65 Rambler (fenders, door skins, parts------) are almost impossible to find.Unless you really love the car and it has some sentimental value to you I would say no. You never get the money back from a car you restore. I would can the idea and find something else to restore. Wagons are becoming hot and all chevy muscle cars are hot right now. Plus how are you going to find part for a Rambler?

I would look a round for an old Chevy, if it's cheap transportation you're looking for. Parts for a Chevy are a dime a dozen & readily available. I wouldn't sink money into the Rambler, unless the Rambler turns out to be a '68 AMX.1996 Isuzu Rodeo EGR Valve and CV Boot, V6 3.2L?

I t might be worth restoring to you personally, but if you are trying to make money at this, you will have to find something that is popular, and spend the absolute minimum on the project. That way you will lose only a minimum.
Ramblers aren't a high demand "classic", so unfortunately it wouldn't be worth it.
What involved in fixing an oil leak on 1990 camry?
You might try "parting it out" on Ebay however, or a classic car forum. It is remotely possible you could get more than your original 300...
Oil on the garage floor under my car?
Here's one site. I would put it on EBay for parts before I would waste any more money on it.Many of these cars were poorly and or cheaply built originally.Do more research. Some older models may have been made much better than the newer ones. This one on this site has an appealing body style that is similar to the Chevy Nova. It's still an antique car but may have less value.http://www.scatpack.com/rambler/...

Only if you're doing it for yourself. It won't sell for anywhere near what you'll have to put into it.Why does my drive shaft keep braking?
Oh yeah! Buy the car, fix it up, and drive it like you stole it. You will get supreme satisfaction doing the work yourself and you will have something you can be proud of, not to mention learning a ton while doing it. Plus, AMCs never had the wide production of Ford or Chevy, so you'll have something unique. If it was me, I'd do it in a second.More Questions & Answers ...
