Where is da best place to find seat covers for your car?
it all varies mate! I"ve been a car valeter for over 10 years, I started off at a garage what payed you per car.. & others which paid hourly, you could earn up to 450+ a week if the works there & you getting paid per car. But I've worked as low as 200 a week. I ended up going on my own self employed thats were you can charge 40/50 quid a valet, & doing 3 or 4 cars a day depending how bad they are...then it's good money.I'd say go for it...at least see how you get on! get experience valeting, get to know the chemicals & how to valet!! soon as you know you can start doing private jobs & neighbours cars, it's good to fall back on if you need some cash! It keeps you fit too! ; )

not fully understanding which side of the fence your on...i say they charge a lot for something you can do yourself...so yeh its good money for the garage owner and various "finnishes" increase the costs as well as the age or prestige of the vehicle i guess.Help! 1987 chevy suburban 1/2 ton not charging battery. its good if you self employed and do. it as for working for a garage it can be hard going its done against the clock every cars diffent dirty wise and you may only get say hour and half to prepare a car thats really bad the money is poor best bet start up on your own.i owned a garage and had outside contactors to do the valeting.this was about 15 years ago and he earned about 400-500 pounds a week.
As a wage job, probably not terribly good. As self-employed, well, I know a mobile valeter whose charges are around the £70-00 mark for a couple of hours (he works slowly & thoroughly, and gets lots of repeat business as a result).
Can a stuck thermostat on your car make it overheat?
Taking it gently & allowing for travelling, he reckons on averaging three jobs a day, which is over a grand a week, more if he can be bothered to work weekends too!
