GM cars tend to do that. i had a 2001 Alero that did that to me. if she has onstar they can send a code to it to reset it. if not, then she needs to take it into the dealer so the computer can be reset. good luckCheck the pass-lock module it may need to be replaced. Is it the original key or one that was made. Some keys have a chip or a resistor in them and it has to be correct before the car will be allowed to turn over.

saturns are trash just have it toed to the junk yard and do yourself a huge favorWill the key not turn or the engine will not turn over. If the key won't turn, pull the wheel as hard as you can to the left and then try to turn the key. The steering wheel is probably just locked. If not that then see if you can jump start the car.

my wife had same thing with her saturn..great opertunity to trade it in...she is happy with new subaruit should only do this on cold mornings? My brother has a 2004 saturn ion and the same thing happened to him. The silicone they use in the ingnition switchj doesnt like the cold. Until he had the $200 to get the ingnition replaced he used to keep a lighter in his car and heat up the metal part of the key slip it in the ignition and wait about 10 seconds and then it would start up every time. The guy at teh dealership said he is replacing about 2 a day but saturn wont recall them because they havent killed anyone yet. Call saturn and they will send you some service certificates they gave my brother 5 $20 certificates that he can use for oil changes or whatever else.
