Can someone tell me how to set up the timing on a toyota townace?

You will need a four slot yoke puller and three 6mm bolts that are about 100mm long as well as three washers to go on the bolts that are at least 20mm in diameter. You have to remove the drive belt as well as the passenger side wheel and remove any wheel well liner in front of the balancer. You must start by removing the crank bolt, I would use a half inch impact gun, and then put the forcing screw against the crankshaft and guide the three 6mm bolts through the slots in the yoke and thread them into the holes in the balancer. Use the impact gun to then turn the forcing screw, pushing it against the crank and pulling the balancer off by way of the three 6mm bolts that have been threaded into it. Once it is off I recommend cleaning the key way and the crankshaft with some emory cloth sanding paper to remove any particles and to ease installation of the new pulley. Put the key back in and then put the new balancer on, lining up the keyway slot and the key, by preferrably using an installation tool, which is essentially a very thick washer that fits on a bolt with the same thread pitch as the crank bolt, but is longer to easily suck the balancer back into place. Do not try to push it in with the crank bolt because it is not long enough and if you put the impact on this then it may strip the end of the crank, which would require crankshaft or engine replacement. I have also seen quite a few technicians GENTLY tap the balancer on until it was far enough to give the crank bolt good purchase in order to use it to suck it back on. After that, put the belt back on, the wheel well covers back into place and install the wheel. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, it's not excessively expensive to have done professionally, and the piece of mind and warranty will probably be worth the cost.

Engine knocks...?

I'm not being sarcastic, but if you have to ask, it isn't something you want to tackle...who said you have to replace it? Is it cracked/broken?

I hav a 89 Mustang, it has 140k miles, the engine shakes and the chck engine light goes on, wat's wrong?

If there isn't enough space between the balancer and body frame, the engine will need to be pulled to even replace it

How much would a radiator cost for a 2005 toyota rav 5?

The vehicle has to be raised and the sub-frame lowered to gain access to the harmonic balancer and then requires special tools to remove and reinstall it.not for the novice or penny pincher...good luck

What is a good brand for brake pads and shoes?

The Harmonic balancer is a funny looking mechanism that is attached to your flywheel and balances out the harmonic vibrations that the flywheel would cause without it and your engine would rattle apart or worse. If you are a mechanic or at least a good backyard mechanic then it isn't a really big deal, but if you have to ask what it is then you need to take it to a mechanic.
The most inexpensive way to go about that is to go to an auto parts store and buy one yourself...
( get the right one! give the counter person your correct make, model, year and the size of your engine-- you can find all of that information in your owners manual or on the inside of your drivers door and under the hood by the radiator -usually.)
Then go to a " small buisness " type of auto mechanic that seem reliable and hagle the price to install it in your vehicle.
