My fuel door on my car won't close (seems ajar) - how can I close without body shop repair?

Question:
Fuel door area received no damage before or after I popped it open with the release button so this is very puzzling for it to be ajar "out of the blue".

I just changed the front left rotor on 94 ford explorer and ABS light stays on?

try spraying the "catch" with oil in case its seizing. another possiblity is that there is a rubber stopper that stops the door going in to far, you may just need to push that in a little. if so it turns just like a screw.

I don't seem to have much luck with auto shops. Seems like they still use process of elimination .?

The release is stuck. push the button several times to get it to free its self.

A little lube couldn't hurt either.
