Why is My car making this weird noise and when in park and accelerated too much the car turns off?

Question:
i turned on the car after replacing the battery and then another problem arose there was this sound of sorta like metal rubbing each other going on and i accelerated the car and more and more and then it just turned off but i was able to turn the car back on but the noise continued what could it be please SOMEONE HELP ME it would be a shame to have to sell this car

It sounds like you spun a connecting rod bearing/main bearing...the sound is low in the engine? It may squeal too...
