Question:
I started my car today. And while I was still in park, the RPM's were staying consistently at 2. Which was high for my car to idle at. When I shifted into drive, my car just took off by itself. As if someone had their foot pressed down on the gas. But my feet weren't on any peddles. It was weird. My car just kept going consistently as if the cruise control was on. I checked to see if my gas peddle was sticking, and it wasn't. I drive an automatic. What could be causing this?

I'm sure it has to do with your computer, and it was telling your car to warm up, if it's very cold. If it continues, even after the engine is warmed up, then you may want to get it checked. Best of luck to you.Need year, make, model.

This could be a safety concern and should be looked at by a professional just to make sure the car doesn't take off on you unexpectedly. A shop should be able to let you know fairly easily what the problem is and what will need to be done to get it fixed.

is it okay to move a mobile home with a jd 8300 tractor?
It sounds like the automatic choke. When the engine is cold in winter, cars are supposed to run at fast idle. After the engine warms up, the engine speed should drop down to about 850 rpm. Before you shift out of park, you are supposed to depress the brake. Some cars won't let you shift out of park without depressing the brake. It is designed so the car won't get away from you.How do I separate a siezed driveshaft from the hub of a Rover 218? please?
