Front end work is not for a beginner. This is simply a safety issue. If you do your own front end work, please let me know where you will be, so I can stay off of the same road as you. If you have questions about what should be done, go to another shop and get a second opinion. Bushings are only one component of a suspension system and usually don't cause the problems you describe.
