Question:
They are really cool. And I was wondering to regular body shop places do this kind of stuff or do you have to get it at the dealership. And around how much does it usually cost for a regular sized car (like a Honda Civic).
And here is an article about it if needed.

It's just a different paint system and any decent paint/body shop can do the application (Not Earl Scheib). Instead of primer-color-clear it's primer-base-color change-clear. And the materials are typically about 3X the cost of materials for a standard clear-coat finish. The majority of the cost of a repaint is labor. You can save money by stripping all trim and decals off the car in advance; but a full color change entails a lot of disassembly and probably some body work for parking lit dings and the like. Depending on the condition of the current paint, it may or may not need to be completely stripped. Then comes primer followed by block sanding, followed by final prep and probably another coat of primer and another block sanding. The base, color change and clear are then applied; curing time, wet sanding and polishing.Having trouble finding the paint code for 96 ford escort?
What you want to do is find a shop that does these on a regular basis and look at some of their prior work before you choose one. Your car will probably be in body shop jail for at least three weeks for a decent job; I've seen repaints take 3 months or more.
that is NOT dealer.factory paint. Check out House of Kolor. This paint was BIG in the late 80's. One thing about this is that the surface of the car must be PERFECT; NO dents, dings or surface irregularities can be there on the metal. This means sanding the entire car down to fill normal irregularities. THEN properly sealed, primed and then painted with the chomatic paint. For a first-rate job you can be in it for $3,000-5,000.
I would guess that it'd have to be done at a special customization facility.

Or you could wait a couple of years, save the money, and get a coat of OLEDs painted on your car. Then you could concievably turn your entire car into a moving television screen and display whatever you want.

Depending on the brand of paint or which flip flop you pick it can cost a couple hundred dollars for a pint of paint. that doesn't include clear or any other materials. A Honda Civic would probably take 2, 3, possibly even 4 quarts of paint if you do the door jambs etc. Any reputable body shop including ones at dealerships can do this. Ones that do it more are obviously going to be better at it.Just so you know sanding a car down does not fill in imperfections etc.
Factory paint is your best primer, in other words you don't have to prime the whole car. Only areas that have been repaired. A color tinted sealer for the whole thing is a good idea.
