Engine stalling.?

Question:
I have a 1982 Ford E150 van with a 351 Windsor engine.
If I hit a bump of 2 inches high or higher the engine STOPS AT ONCE!
Turn the key and it restarts instantly, no grinding or missing, it is just like it never stalled.
Any ideas, I have replaced the ignition coil, the distributor, the duraspark module.
I have replaced ALL INLINE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS.
I am stumped. This has been going on for more than 10 years and is getting worse lately.
The engine has about 350,000 on it

I used Trans X transmission fluid for leak, how long does it take to work?

these things are notorious for bad ignition switches, however that doesnt mean its bad. a simple test, run a wire from coil + side into the cab and attach a test light to it that you can see when driving. if it goes out when it dies, you have a power supply problem. good luck, sounds like a tough one.

turbo and nos?

the only way to stop an engine instantly and not slowly is to ground out the coil, you may have replaced the coil but it is wired to the ignition switch, run a second line to the coil directly from the battery then go over a bump to check it. if it doesn't stall trace the coil supply wire right through the harnesses.

ps dont get lazy and leave the wire hooked up it will drain your battery.

A winter time question about cars?

sounds like an alternator problem. and a voltage regulator.
diodes in the alternator are fragile. the engine needs a voltage regulator to maintain enough voltage to keep the engine running.
the high output distributors (pointless) need 12volts to operate.

How come?!?

My 1991 Dakota had a similar problem. It was the engine control computer. I had to go threw 6 units till they found one that worked. I replaced the original with remanufactured, If you did the same thing with your module it too may be bad...good luck !

1999 Toyota Camry's engine shaking?

i own a repair shop, and you have a ground point on it or something that's breaking contact anytime it hits a bump like that ,i seen an older model Chevy do this once, and it had broken ground wire on it,and had been like that for about 3 years according to the owner, after i changed engines in it,and found the wire they said i never did it again,it had thrown a rod in the old engine but was still running, you might need to look for a loose ground wire somewhere on it,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

also check the chassis-engine ground wire.

Would the check engine light come on if your engine compression is low?

Sounds like the ignition switch in the steering column. When they get worn the contacts get sloppy. I've replaced a few switches for that reason on foreign and domestic vehicles. They had the exact symptoms your having.
