This is an air filter for air going into your carb. It will improve performance by allowing more air to pass easily through the filter. It will also improve performance if you can feed cooler air into it This can be done by running a duct out past the radiator to take in fresh air from the front of the car which has not been heated by the engine. A hood scoop can do the same thing by taking in fresh cooler air from above the hood. (but most hood scoops are just for show) The K&N filter can be cleaned and reused , which will save you money in the long run.Air intake is where air is brought into your manifold to mix with the fuel. That item is a replament for your stock intake filter to supposedly increase horespower and performance.
It may require some modifications to install.
