Question:
I have a bunch of old tires in the garage and I thought maybe some place might by them to be re-treded. Not sure where to take them though. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Whats the noise?
I'm afraid not. Most of the time in most areas they are considered hazardous waste, and if you just throw them in the trash the men of the truck will pull them out of the can and leave them sit in your drive. You can take them to a tire shop for disposal, but be prepared to pay around $2 a tire to do so. Pretty much the same deal on lead acid batteries, and old paint. At least with paint you can throw kitty litter in it until it's completely absorbed and then put it in the trash. Got any cans of lye under the kitchen sink? That is hazardous material also. Long gone are the days when you dumped your used oil on the weeds to kill them.
When you get a "plug" put in to fix a flat tire. Is that a good way to fix a flat? Do plugs last?
These days they all want you to pay even if they are recycling them. Here's an idea: Try offering them to someone who gardens (great for potatoes mounds or for landscaping).

Nobody will buy them it is too easy to get them for free if some one needs them. A recycling center may take them and a tire store will take them for a fee unless they just happen to appear at their door step one morning.
