Have a quarter (25-cent piece) sized hole in the lower right (if I'm standing in front of it) corner of engine. truck doesn't start. Have faulty EGR Valve, recommendations?

if it's not the block go buy a haynes or chiltons manual and research what is busted
EGR is Exhaust Gas Recycling. A faulty valve will only make the truck run slightly rough and fail the emissions test. That is all.
I would say that the hole in your motor is a BAD thing. maybe even the reason it doesn't start.
tune up on your car if it's old?
rephrase your ? so we know what your talking aboutim not real formilliar with the 2.5L but all I can think of is that a frost plug fell out or something. you'd know if it did, anti-freeze would pour out of it.

The hole in the engine is the reason for it not starting and ur other problem cant help ya with srry .. but this is most typical for s-10 i had the same problem with my own..good lucki have astra 1.7 td 1996 steam is coming out heater vents any ideas what could cause this problem?
