Every time I have something go wrong with a car, any of the cars I've had, I go to the part store and get to listen to how any other model of car would have the part for so much cheaper but mine is "special" model so it requires a more expensive part.What kind of vehicle would I have to have to always be able to go to parts store and get what I need for a reasonable price and not have to listen to the same bull about needing a "special" part?

I work at a parts store and it is true. More common cars mean more common parts. The most common parts for trucks are for the 76-89 chevy trucks. If you have one of those you can find anything for it. Do you have an S10 blazer or a fullsize blazer? The fullsize would have more parts available.next time ask for a kiss, your getting screwed

get a brand new car (NEW) like a 2006/2007 car, it will be under warranty for a period of time so if anything happens the company has to pay for it, a 94 car would be harder to get parts for and it was probably second hand, right, unless you are a mechanic or have a very strong knowledge of cars don't get a second hand car, cause you don't really know what your gettingIt's unfortunate,but that does happen. My wife bought an Astro years before we got married and they took her for a ride.. Maybe have a male friend do the shopping for you. Depending on the part for the Blazer.. It might have required a special part.. but you don't mention what part and what it had to do with the two door vs. four door. Ha Ha they are screwing you. The 4x4 four door blazer is the most un-special thing on the road. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one. They are lemons though. You will be spending a fortune on repairs due to sheer volume.

For cheap parts you need an economy car, Caviliers and hundais have some of the cheapest parts. As a rule of thumb, any car that is very common, cheap (not fancy), and more than a few years old will have cheaper parts.

In general, parts are priced by "application"...the more different vehicles they fit, the lower the price..."common" parts on a single model will affect it too.I have a 96 Grand Prix, and just bought rear wheel bearing "assemblies", because they also include the hubs...cost $97 a piece. There are two part numbers, one "with" abs sensor, and one without. "With" the sensor you would think was higher price, but Noooo...Since it was more "common" to have the sensor, the ones I have cost more, because they don't have it, and are "less common".
