i own a shop and no,coke wont eat through paint it will remove sap and stuff like that sometimes if it hasn't set on it to long but it wont damage the paint,try some kerosene on the rust stains,and it wont bother the paint either,but it might help you get off the rust stains on it,good luck hope this helps.
