MY 1985 camaro . the AC compressor comes on and off and makes a grinding noise .?

Question:
What can I do to remedy this ?? The AC works ok . it just sounds bad .. does it need new lube .. or . can I change it over to the new stuff ?

Bondo vs. Fiberglass for body repairs?

If it cycles on and off a lot then you are low on freon. I had a compressor that sounded like a cement mixer but it worked fine. Get it charged and keep on running it. The freon (R-12) is pretty expensive. You may wish to change over to R-134a.

Gas on top of fuel pump after filling car. I had the fuel pump replaced b4 this started. 1st guy cut a hole.

replace the clutch assembly on the compressor
