Problems with my '88 BMW 325i?

Question:
It started coughing and sputtering after a long day of running (stop and go+highway). It idols really rough and dies before too long. If I rev it up it runs OK until I let the clutch out then I have to keep pumping the gas to keep 'er running. Today, I looked for vacuum leaks and took the intake apart (everything before the plenum). There was oil sitting at the bottom of the tube before the throttle body and in the throttle body. The air filter doesn't oil on it yet, But everything after the air flow sensor was soaked and had oil sitting in the bottom. Any suggestions? If anyone needs more details feel free to E-mail me via this site. Thanks.

Sounds like the gaskets are leaking.

I have a 94 Geo Metro (manual), it will not shift?

The oil is caused more than likely by blow by. Your valves leak a little. This is not the reason you are having problems running. Change your fuel filter before you burn up your fuel pump. Have a nice day.
