96 Ford Contour heat delivery problem...air vents not working?
check water level , fan belt , thermostat , water pump leak , yes these can cause engine to over heat even in normal drivingGuaranteed ways to pass emissions?...?
I assume you mean TOO HOT, when your warning light comes on, or when the guage moves into the RED warning area? You'r not wasting our time with a warm engine, I hope?NO> if engine is too hot..
You have one of these problems:
1. Not enough water in the radiator.
2. A water pump is not turning (by old fan belt type engine)
3. Water pump is loosing and leaking water (modern type engine)
4. Thermostat is always closed and this also makes a hammering sound after 5 minutes.
5. Not enough oil to help cool engine
6. Small cracks in head gasket that allow water and oil to escape into each other.
7. Valves are not adjusted and stay open too long, allowing gas to explode when valve is slightly open. Valve edges are burning
8. That should give you a few hours work to do... good luck.
when starting my vahicle it makes rattling noise underneath front n/s can it be driveshaft?
an internal combustion engine gets its powers by containing the fuel-air explosions and transforming the free energy of the explosions into usuable knetic energy, Andsince an explosions produces heat, the engine will get very hot very quickly.I recently bought a 1997 Ford Ka but the heaters never get hot, why?
Yes. Engines don't run good when cold. That's why in cold weather you let the car warm up before moving (depending on how cold it gets where you live). All of the friction and moving parts creates heat. The pistons move by "exploding" the gas for craps sakes. It's impossible to not get the engine hot. You want it hot, but not over heated, that's what cooling fans are for so the engine stays at the correct temperature.yeah, engine is supposed to run betwenn 90-100 celcius
whats hot? it could run on the hotter side but if it is running hot its probably the thermastat since the weather has been colder
