Can I do fiberglass repair myself?
Check the fuel pressure and check the volume of gas flow, your fuel pump might be failing and or the "mesh screen in it is clogged up. You may have to drop the gas tank to check these.* I had the same exact trouble with my 1988 Chevy Silverado, it took me about three weeks to find out what i just mentioned to you. i literally fixed it Thursday afternoon.

Find a shop with a " car dynomometer " so it can be scoped while they simulate the road coditions you describe .I am betting it is in the ignition timing [focusing on spark advance problems] also oxygen sensors play into this as well .Your having a lack of power suggests a lag in the timming trying to catch up to accelleration demands .
SPARKS TUNE-UP SHOPS had car dyno's built into the floor of some of their shops to do that and other services as well .
