Taking too long to pick up speed when i accelerate?

When you see the price of a new one (you have to buy the whole thing) from a dealer you will feel you are holding something that's worth its weight in gold, and if you are not confident, you may damage it. It's an easy job for a mechanic or fitter, but then they do it every day. Try taking it off and dismantling it first (screws behind the panel on the inside of the door) . You could find that it's just a disconnected wire. And I don't mean to be condescending, but have you checked the fuse? Good luck with this job anyway.
