1999 Ford ZX2 will crank but it won't start...?

You need to take the battery cables off the battery and clean the post and the inside of the terminals . They get burned and corroded inside where you can't see. After that try charging the battery again. I'm pretty sure you'll find out that's your problem. Poor connections. Sometimes you can't see the corrosion that is inside the battery connections. It's the most common problem. It doesn't matter what the outside of the terminals look like. If that doesn't correct the problem then you starter solenoid probably is out. Sometimes it's easier and cheaper in the long run to just replace the whole starter rather than just the solenoid

Your charging system might be bad. you might need a new alternator and regulator and a battery.

Is it OK to use starting fluid in a 7.3 powerstroke?

My car will die while driving and everything shuts off. What is wrong?

Sounds like the starter solenoid went out. Follow the positive side of the battery down the cable to wherever it connects, either to the starter itself, or to a small part with wires connected to it. If it is a separate piece (solenoid), replace it, if it is connected to the starter, replace the starter. I would also recommend replacing the cables, or at the very least keep them clean. Corrosion is on of the worst enemies of a battery.

2000 s10, 4cyl. automatic transmission problem?

put a volt meter on the battery, turn on all head lights, see what the batt voltage is. it should be over 11 volts. If it is , have someone crank the eng over and watch the voltage then, if it drops under 9.5 ot 10 volts while the eng is cranking over, the batt might be weak. If it goes under that the batt. is bad. If it stays above 10 volts and the eng cranks over slow, you either have a bad connection to the starter or the satrter is bad. The batt should show 12.5 volts when there is no lights or anything on.

My VW is reading cylinder misfire and catalytic converters below threshold, what do i do?

Possible Problems
-Battery terminal connections loose or corroded. Check the cable terminals at the batter; tighten cable clam and/or clean off corrosion
-Battery discharged or faulty. Charge battery or replace
-Broken, loose or disconected wires at the starting circuit. Inspent all wires and connectors at the battery, starter solenoid and ignition switch (on steering column).
-Starter motor pinion jammed in driveplate ring gear (remove starter and inspect pinion and drive plate.
- Starter solenoid faulty. Replace
-Starter Motor faulty. replace
-Ignition Switch Faulty. Replace
-Engine seized. Try to turn the crankshaft with a large socket and breaker bar on the pulley bolt. If seized :( sorry your screwed
-Starter Relay (CCRM) faulty. Test at part store
-Transmsion range sensor out of adjustment or defective (this must be done by a transmission specialist. Because it takes a $2500 computer to do this.

Catalytic Converter?

HERE is the first thing to do and cheap. Get two new cable ends from parts store, cut the existing cable ends off, trim back the insulation to fresh copper, bolt on the replacement ends and try it. There is probably some corrosion between terminal and cable that you cannot see. It worked for my 90 dodge last year.
