trying to get more power out of a v6 4.3 L.t what can i add to my engine to get more horsepower when i step on the gas it goes but its kinda slow i swear a ford escort can take me at the light and no there is nothing wrong with the engine .

The fastest and easiest way to add power is to install a NOS system. Cold air, exhaust systems are a good start, but you wont gain a whole lot of power, (5-10 hp) with these as you EFI system will limit your gains. The power you can gain from NOs (nitrogen oxide gas) is unlimited and restricted only by what your engine can handle before it blows apart.A NOS system dumps extra fuel and oxygen in the engine, it also cools the charge thus making more power.

Well you could add a performance free flowing exhaust, cost about $ 125.00, and a Cold air intake, cost about the same. Combined could add about 25hp to your engine and no major tunning is needed... you can also think of performance spark plugs and wires, research on a perfomance chip "computer" for your engine ...I daily drive a 1988 Chevy Silverado reg cab-long bed with the 305, 5.0L V8, i have done these things to my truck and find it very well worth while...i notice the strength increase at all diiferent rev ranges.

I would try going with a good aftermarket free flowing exhaust system, cold air intake system better plugs and wires. along with coil and ignition system. then top it off with a remapped ecm chip to add power and raise the redline and shift points in the trans if its an automatic. there's also the addition of good roller rocker's. outside of that your getting into diving into major swap outs in internal engine components and fabrications for swaps like turbo's and superchargers. money is the root of all things fast. it takes some to make more.1993 Ford Mustang?? check engine light?
I have a 3.9 v6 in my Dakota, her are some things I did that gave me more power, (1) up graded the exhaust system, went to a 3'' exhaust w/a Flow master Muffler (2) in stalled an "power tower", it is a EFI THROTTLE BODY SPACER (3) changed my air filter to an K&N filter, (4) up graded my coil to a +50,000 volts. (5) bumped my timing up 2 dergress. (6) replace my spark plugs with platium +4. (7) replaced my spark plugs wire with a larger mm ,life time wires. Each and all of the above gave me more horse power AND as long as I keep my foot from pushing the gas peddle to the floor, I increased my gas mileage.
