Question:
Hello there~ I have a question regarding whether to change tires on my car or not.
I drive 2002 Toyota Highlander 2WD V6 (front wheel drive). It has about 31000 miles, I have mostly driven the car in Tennessee but it stayed in Minnesota for little bit more than a year, which means tires were exposed to some degree of harsh conditions and those chemicals to melt snows.
Here's the question. It seems that the thread of the of tires on my car has not reached that limit which indicates to change the tires. Also dealership crew says my tires are still good. What I am worried about is that when it rains or the road is wet, when I try to pull ahead from a complete stop while making a turn, the driving wheels (front wheels for my car) rotate without any grip for a short period of time. It drives fine without losing the grip on all other occasions. I am starting to think to change the tires, but I'd like hear what you think about this. Thanks

How come my points in my distributor burns up as soon as i turn the key switch on ?
well if you have never change thje tires since you got the car i would say you should change them. it just depends on the weather if you say it is only when it rains that it losses grip than you know the the summer is coming and i dont know over there in tennessee but if it rains a lot and you have the money then yeah change them but there is no hurry on it because if i am correct most tires go around 50,000 miles with standard use so you r the only one that know how much harsh conditions has the tires taken. in my opinion if its not the money that bothering you than change them better safe than sorryLooking for a TINT SHOP in PASADENA, CA or EL MONTE, CA?
I would measure the tread for yourself, any less than 1/8" and you would be better to change them if you are doing a lot of driving in wet conditions. Most tires will slip when it wet from a standing start on a powerful car, but the more tread you have on your tires the better.
In the uk the legal min tread is approx 1/16" over 75% of the tyre but i always change them well before then.
Hope this helps
How much should it cost to have a fuel filter replaced?
no 60,000 miles has to be on the daswhen pulling away from a stop, do you NAIL it? or ease into the gas?
How is your rear tires? maybe you could just rotate the rear tires to the front.
