There is a drain on the battery. Check your accessories like radio and dome lights or a brake light stuck on. Could be a bad ignition switch that is not shutting off all the way. Old chevy's are known for that.why is it so tough to find auto parts stores that carry?

If what you say is correct, then check your battery terminals-make sure they are clean. Take them off the battery and sand the terminals and the inside of the holes in the two cables. Sounds like something is draining it. Check to see if there's a dome light or radio or amp and anything that is remaining on after you turn off your vehicle. Have it checked for voltage drain. CHeck the starter relay. Sometimes they corrode and water gets in and freezes or shorts the thingthe light in your glove box or something is always on even if the ing is off until u find out just disconnect the batt when not in use

There could be one problem or a few problems going on at once. Providing that the alternator is good, and you have nothing on the truck that would be causing a battery drain. It would most likely be your battery. Have the battery load tested at a reputable auto repair shop or auto parts store that offers this service for free. They can also at the same time do a check on the alternator by putting a load on the battery with the engine running to determine if the alternator is putting out the proper voltage under load. If all that checks out to be good, get you a test light and start tracing wires associated with the starting and charging system. also double check if there would be anything on your truck that could cause a slow battery drain. some vehicle components can develop a unseen short and start a slow battery drain. Im sorry that I cant give you a direct answer, but this kind of problem is just one of those things that you have to start checking the obvious and check everything else by going through the process of elimination.More Questions & Answers ...
