Question:
I know that the gases can reach 1200 F but what is the average surface temperature of the tail pipe? Will JB weld seal a crack in the welding or will it just melt away? I need sources to help me out...Thanks!

Does anyone know anything about brakes on a 91 buick centry?
JB weld will not work, as it is an epoxy and will not stand high exaust temperatures. over 400F. Average exhaust temps can be twice this. They do make exhaust system sealers to will TEMPORALLY SEAL, but in my experience it is best to just replace the pipe once they start to go.Anyone have any problems with their f350, 1997?
It depends on where along the pipe it is. If it is way back towards the rear it will be OK. If it's up on the manifold I might think twice. What does shaving cream do to a car?
The exhaust is average of 500 degrees. The hottest part at the converter. If you are repairing the exhaust pipe or muffler , JB weld will work but will only be a temp fix. With The constant heat and cool down of your exhaust I dont know how long it will last, but low heat shouldnt be a problem with this product unless your using it on the converter.More Questions & Answers ...
