I have a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero with approx. 86000 miles on it, and I have a security light problem?

My security light has been coming on the last couple of days when I go to drive it. Today, it came on about a mile away from my house. I turned the car off, turned it back on and it didn't come back on. Is this a serious problem that needs attention, or is this just an annoyance because the car is getting older?

I have came across the same problem with a car. It was the pass-lock module it has to do with your anti theft system. The module could be going bad which will make the signal from your remote or if your key has a chip in it get misinterpreted and in turn illuminate the security light.

How much "Licence A" Automotive Technicians make at different Auto shops? (In Ontario)?

It could cut gas flow off to the engine not while your driving it of course but if you get in it to start it it may not start and the light may come on.
