Question:
The engine light in my car came on a while back and it read that the 02 sensor was bad. The mechanic at the shop told me that the shaking was probably due to that so they replaced it with a B1S2 Oxygen Sensor (if that means anything) and added some transmission fluid but it is still shaking.
It only shakes while idle and mostly when I am first starting up the car or sitting at a light. After I've been driving for a while it doesn't seem to shake much anymore. The car has around 50,000 miles on it and is in good condition. Any suggestions?

B1S2 means bank one sensor two (post catalytic converter). As far as the shaking goes it's probably your plug wires or a cracked spark plug. Most likely wires though. If it continues it should bring up a misfire code which will cause your check engine light to flash. It may take some time for this to happen though. One reason it only does it in the morning is because dew or moisture gets in the engine compartment while it sits overnight which will make the plug wires "arc" and not let the spark plug fire.My car battery keeps going flat even with new one?
The shaking and the O2 sensor are unrelated. So you need to take it back to get this fixed. It isn't the mechanic's fault either. It could be a bad motor mount. The four cylinders run a bit rough and a leaking motor mount could cause this problem. Hope this helps.Where can I find a plastic strip for my 1993 Thunderbird?
I guess it has no accident history. You might want to check the adjusted idling speed if it is still within specs. If happens when the engine is cold you might want to check the cold start injector, temperature sensor.Help! 1987 chevy suburban 1/2 ton not charging battery. New alternator, Battery, checked grounds.?
i own a repair shop, and i own a 98 model stratus also,i think it might be time for new set of plugs and wires in it,when the 0-2 sensor goes it will cause the plugs to foul out from too much gas,and also the wires get weak on these because of the design of them,id replace the plugs first, and see if that helps i,i think it will, but keep in mind it may also need wires on it,it is always recommended on these to replace both the wires and the plugs at the same time, yours shouldn't need wires though but check and make sure there alright,if it runs good after replacing the plugs i wouldn't worry about the wires for now, good luck i hope this helps. How do you check the oil pressure in a truck?
First do not take an idling problem to the mechanic there is alot of stuff they can replace that is not necessary. I have dealt with this alot in my cars. I would first suggest checking the air filter, then clean the mass air flow sensor and throttle body. IF that does not help email me at pericles877 on yahoo.More Questions & Answers ...
