After I already started to answer this question I went and got the manual for this and realized that its a "How to replace the timing belt" book and not a specification book. So bygones being bygones, and a 1/4 century under my belt of auto mechanic profession, This is the way. Loosen the distributor just enough so that its hard to turn by hand. You will notice with the motor running that to turn it 1 way is to increase engine speed by advancing the timing and the other way retards it.If you go to advanced, the motor will ping, or rattle as you step on it, or load it up. From there, back it off or retard it until the pinging goes away, them go another 1/8 turn. You will be within a penis hair of correct with that. Its like the old homemade recipe
