Car doesn't have power on takeoff and up to about 65 mph, any suggestion?

I have a 1995 Pontanic Grand Am Quad 4 and when I go to take off there is no power. When you first take off until you reach about 55-65 mph there is no power. We have changed the spark plugs and that didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestion on what else it might be? Ran really good just about 2 month ago and just started doing this one day. Any help would be great. Thanks

You might want to check several things...fuel injectors and filter certainly, and all those little rubber vacuum hoses that can make a car run rough and have no power.

Then go to such things as plugs and wires, coil packs that may be arcing or general coil faults, transmission fluid low or dirty, filter plugged, egr valve stuck open or diaphragm split (vacuum again)...

Also, the timing chain may be stretched too much, which throws off the timing for the engine...

Last, but not least, the compression may be low or uneven in the cylinders.

Kinda sounds like dirty injectors. Most parts stores sell SeaFoam Part # SF16. I have used it many times on many cars. It is a Great Product. It costs about 8 bucks a can.

Hows the car running? Any miss firing or running rough problem. Quad 4 motors are notorios for ignition coils and housing problems,especially the housings. If the housing is black in color I diffenitally start with that. check for carbon tracking in cover. The replacment cover is white in color,does'nt absorb the heat like the black cover will. Also look for restricted exhaust like a plugged converter especially high mile vehicles. Hope this helped
