Hello, my car starts fine when I first start it in the morning, but throughout the day, say if I go to a few places and turn the car off a bunch of times when I get to my destination, my car won't start after like the 4th place. It clicks. It seems as I use the car more and start it more, the problem occurs, but after a long time without using the car, it starts perfectly. What could be the problem?

I bet 100 % that it;s your starter motor and solenoind, its getting old, have it replaced and u should be fine.I have a new civic that recently got 'keyed', any suggestions on how to fix it?
Sounds like the ignition coil is heating up and going open circuit , replace it with a known good unit . If the clickis a constant loud clicking it could be your starter motor , but I stick with the first.landrover freelander 1.8 petrol engine prob?
The Power cable going down to the starter is a maint. item. Or too the negative cable.The first place I would check is where Your battery cables hook on the battery. Make sure both are clean and tight. Then if I were You I would remove the positive cable from the battery then remove the other end of that same cable and clean it with a file or even an emory board. Also clean the other end of Your neg. cable where it is bolted to the motor. I hope this helps you.

what kind of car/engine? lots of possibilities. good clean connections on the battery? how about on the starter? does the engine leak oil on to the starter? that's where to start the cheapest. next, get the alternator checked for charging, bad connections and a weak alt./ or battery will do what you're describing. heat is an enemy to the starting/ charging systems. make your next stop to an auto parts store that will do a test for you. good luck!What would cause the engine in my car to quit while driving?

most likely you need a new starter.....when a starter goes out, it does not just "go out", it slips, and sometimes it will start fine, but when your gears don't match up anymore due to wear, then all you will get is a continuous "click".....Disconnect the positve from the battery 1st, then locate the starter by following the positive cable, then remove the wires from the starter paying attention to what wires go where, then remove the 2 or 3 bolts from the starter and frame......then install new one....simple fix, and not too expensive either, aprox $60-150 for the starter depending on your vehicle.what car can you think of has the cheapest and easy to find parts?

1-check the ignition coil.
2-check if something is blocking the normal flow of the exhaust air, meaning, rags in the muffler pipe.
3check if the wire to the terminal"S" in the starter's solenoid is properly attach or connect
4 WITHOUT STARTING THE ENGINE moves the ignition key from of to start meanwhile you look to the lights in the dashboard.do they lite always? blinks if they do then is the key switch
