Question:
My question is... my car stopped moving, but it was still running, it was still able to be started when it arrived at the dealership. My question is... if it was so "bone dry" out of gas... why did my car start?? Dont you have to have gas in order for the vehicle to start??

you still have gas in your lines though, Bone dry is an expression in their opinoins I guess. And yeah it can kill your fuel pump, BUT if the car was running fine, then more than likely your fuel pump is fine.get a 2nd opinion.. the dealer will make your bank acct bone dry! Good luck to you!!

I don't know where you took it, but get it out of there. If the car is running then what is it running on if not gas? If the engine is running but the car won't go it sounds like a transmission problem or even remotely the rear end, but not the fuel pump.
