Question:
I get my oil changed on my 2005 dodge neon every 3,000 miles. Is there anything else that should be done maintenance wise? My vehicle currently has a little over 15,000 miles.

i own a repair shop, and you should have all the fluid levels checked in it,and have it greased every time the oil is changed,,there's not much to grease on it,,one or two fittings, also have the tires rotated every 5 thousand miles on it,,this keeps them wearing even, and just basically take care of it,,don't over drive it,,be good to it,,and it will be good to you,,i know of one of those cars that has over 200 k on it,,and it still runs really good,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,PS if you,ll look in the owners manual it has a good service schedule in it,,you can use it as a reference point.air filter, fuel filter
1998 Dodge Caravan ..service engine light?
Follow the service schedual in your manual. You need to replace a LOT over a cars lifespan, even if it doesn't go bad.what is M.P.F.I. can we use it in petrol engine ?
To list a few maintanence items:
oil
air filter
Transmission fluid (and filter if an auto)
coolant
thermostat
radiator cap
waterpump
timing belt
brake fluid
power steering fluid
clutch fluid
Replace all of those items (give or take a few I can't think of) and your car will never experience death by your hands. Other items will fail eventually, tires will need to be replaced, shocks will go ect, but you tackle that stuff as it comes.
how much does it cost to clean fuel injectors on a 1988 ford bronco II?
You should also check the your tire pressure...having the right amount of air in your tires will save on gas mileage. Also check your antifreeze and belts.well can someone suggest what needs to be fixed checked for car starts but wont turn over?
Oil change is great every 3k, but with 15k you need to change the plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, fuel filter and air filter. Change the plugs est. every 2 oil changesHow do you know if valve guides will repair oil use?
along with oil change hopefully you are changing oil filter. also you should changed fuel filter if accesible and airfilter. tire pressure should be check along with looking at the tire tread wear. checking fluids like coolant, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and brake fluid is good idea. also looking at your drive belt, or also called serpentine belt, is good. what you would look at in the belt is cracks, rotting, and wear in the belt. also check all your lights to make sure they are working properly. look for any leaks is good idea. look at battery terminals for any corrosion. some vehicles have grease fittings. if you have a grease gun, you should hit all the grease fittings with a couple pumps of lube. grease serts are found usually in steering system and sometimes driveline. check the brakes and rotors too. all this is considered preventative maintance. if you do all this, the risk of you vehicle breaking down goes down alot. this should actually be done every 2000 miles. Why is my 06 Chevy Colorado making grumbleing noises when I turn?
Read the owners manual which was provided to you when you purchased the car. There is a section that outlines what maintenance should be done and at what mileage it should be performed. If you can't or are unwilling to read, talk to your dealers maintenance department and let them perform the maintenance. They will even set up a schedule and send you reminders when maintenance is due. That only works if you read the notices they send you though. Whatever you do DON'T take it to Soggy. He's been ripping off consumers for too many years if he changes plugs, wires and all that as often as he says. Most of the cars today are set up to run their plugs for 80 to 100 thousand miles. Is it a good idea to start your car in the winter every few days to keep the battery charged?
there's no need to change the oil every 3,000 miles. the recommended intervals are more than enuf.you should switch to a synthetic oil. then the oil changes are every 15,000 miles.
lube locks, weatherstrips, hinges and any front end parts. lube rubber bushings... check and adjust brakes, top off fluids, check air in tires, clean windows...
