Look for fuel line blockage if it a Nissan they are especially prone to this look at small inline filters as well as inlet screen to carbscould be the leads are loose or worn or damp, could be it's almost out of gas, could be water hitting the coil or the timing is out coulf be lots of things to be honest, pop it into the garage and tell them whats wrong I'm sure they will sort it out for you no worries, or find a guy that has a smalll idea about cars, or call me :)

pps if you do go to a garage make sure you have a service on the car if it's due one, and ask for a service report, and please dont go to one of them quick stop, magic answer garages as they plug your car into a machine and read out the answer, as to what the machine says it wrong with it, personaly I rather deal with humans!

Any one of a number of things. Fuel pump failing and not delivering fuel. Fuel filter needing replacement. Failing coil. Moisture in the cap, and the list goes on. Since I have no idea what made year or model your vehicle is ("my car" doesn't tell us much) I can't be more specific.Got a good mechanic? Go there, tell him what it does, and ask him to check it for you.

miss firing of spark plugs or a loose timing chain might be more accurrate. Do a complete tune-up, and call me in the morning. Just kidding, but I was serious about the tune-up.have the fuel filter spark plugs and wires replaced and yu should be fine.

If the car is older, the spark plug cables get old and develop fine cracks and cause this without showing up on diagnostics. If the standard causes are eliminated, I would replace the cables.Car would have to be at least 7 years old or in a hot dry climate.
If this is more likely to happen in damp weather, this is a very likely cause.
If it happens after you get the car good and warmed up, and happens every time you get it warm. Have them check if there is moisture in your engine oil. This is not good because you have a block crack to the inside.
Lots of other causes, but these are ones that I find machanics miss.
