02 avalanche power steering?

Question:
OK, with a pry bar I can pretty much pull the shaft out of the ps pump with the belt still on so Im guessing I have a broken shaft and a bad pump. How difficult is this to replace? How do I determine if I have hydro boost or vacuum boost? Its and 02 z71 4x4. Any help would be appreciated.

hydralic and vacuum boost is options for brakes, not power steering. you most likeley need a pump. there is a special puller you need to get the pulley off the shaft. take it too the shop.
