Dropped a screw inside the vent?

Question:
I bought one of those dashboard mounted satellite radios. One of the small screws from the unit came loose and fell down inside the dashboard windshield defroster vent. Now when I drive I can hear the screw inside there somewhere moving around via enertia. How can I get it out?

If I use a big powerful magnet will it not hurt the instrument panel electronics? Or do they make magnets small enough and powerful enough to stick down through the vent slots suspended on a string?

Use a powerfull hoover and suck it out, that way you wont damage anything with a magnet and youll have a nice dust free dash

They do make small magnent's. Get one of those at Home Depot or lowe's and try to put it inside of the little opening on the dash and get it out!

rent a shop vac, or take it to PDQ or a roadside vacuum. A strong magnetic field may hurt the sensitive computers within your engine and such.
