First check your transmission fluid if that's good check and see if all the bolts that hook the transmission to the block are tight that's what i would check first good luckcarburetor flooding and not starting!?

tranny shop but iwould sell it 15 yrs old let somebody else deal with it get what you can.probably 1500 for a trans,plus every thing else is ready to go wrongi own a repair shop,and i think there might be trouble with the shift solenoid in it,,these do give some trouble when they get a few miles on them if take it by a good transmission shop,and let them look at it,and see what they say about it,,if you catch it now before it does any more damage to it,,you might be able to save it ,before it does any damage to it,good luck hope this help,s.,,merry x-mas.
