Need help with 87 BMW 535is suspension ?????

Question:
i bought a 87 bmw 535 is. and when you get going about 30 mph.
the wheel jerks back and forth but when you get to about 55 mph it stops doing it I dont know a whole lot about bmw's this is my first one

this sounds like a front tire is separating. this is easy to check for just jack car up until tire is off the ground and rotate the tire. while tire is rotating check that tire is round and does not have any bulges. any bulges or out of round replace tire.
if both front tires are round get tires balanced.
this is a tire problem not a suspension problem.
