Question:
I have a 1990 GMC Suburban. A few days ago the oil gauge started dropping down when I stop at a light and would go back up when I step on the gas. Now it just stays down on 0 pressure. I have been told that I need an oil pressure switch by some people and an oil pump by others. Can someone tell me what I should do?

Well if you are driving it then it is not the oil pump because your engine would not be getting oil to the cylinder walls, and would throw multiple rods. You probably need the switch.2001 ford explorer sporttrac , check engine light came on?

I would probably buy a cheap oil pressure gauge at walmart and put it in, see if you have any pressure on that. if you dont, you probably need an oil pumpPeugeot 106 1997 (Phase II) - How to remove drivers side door?
i own a repair shop ,and been at this for a while,if it was the oil pump it probably would have locked the engine up on it,try replacing the sending unit for it,this will cause it to read 0 pounds of oil pressure,if you can hear it knocking and rattling, you have no oil pressure, but if it still runs good and quiet, all you need is a sending unit,i have seen a few like this in that past 36 years, good luck i hope this helps.More Questions & Answers ...
