Car won't start is a 93 chevy Blazer (truck) -- Vortec engine. Thank's for your help?

power steering pump may be making the noise due to low power steering fluid level in the system. i'm talking about the power steering system, which pumps fluid to assist you turning the steering wheel. the system needs enough fluid to assist your manual steering effort, so a low fluid level could explain why it is hard to turn the steering wheel when coming from the parking lot. the tires always require more force to turn when the car is stopped or at low speed.

top off the power steering fluid and have someone turn the wheel while parked and look under the hood to see if there are any leaks in the power steering hose. it's under pressure, so you should be able to spot any squirts. you might just need a new hose.
