Question:
I brought my car to the shop, we had never personally received an estimate, and they did not fix the original problem. I payed them $500 to fix overheating, and no heat, and the problem still lies after they dinked around and flushed my radiator (which they replaced before).. what should i do now?

i live in Michigan. by law there suppose to furnish you with an estimate before any work is preformed unless you authorize them to do work, or authorize them to fix something up to a certain amount. when you walk in there shop there should be a sign from the Secretary of state that states this law and regulation. the secretary of state handles your kind of problem in your case. i would go back to the shop first and discuss this with them first. remain calm. if they have that sign from the Secretary of state up you can point out the incorrect procedure here. if they don't have a sign (i believe its law they have to have one) you can stop at a s.o.s. office and get a pamphlet that explains your rights. either way for 500.00 dollars you should have definitely had the car fixed. did you sign paperwork when you picked your car up. they may have tricked you into signing the estimate then. i have also seen them have you sign the estimate form when you drop the vehicle off. you can file a complaint if all else fails with the s.o.s. if you find out there not licensed you can even call the local police. there breaking the law. good luckWhere is the Power steering Fluid tank on the 1997 Buick Lesabre?
