Black smoke USUALLY indicates too much fuel. A bad injector, improperly set pump, clogged return line are among the first things to check. Turbo may also be the culprit. You did not say whether the black smoke is constant, or just when you add power (as in after shifting, or powering up a hill). Constant would be the bigger worry. In case it matters, blue smoke indicates an oil problem, white smoke indicates coolant in the combustion chambers. Usually.
